The good news is that all the hard work that was done by Amina Mangara and friends is not wasted and still sits there to be finished off. Once we start meeting again I am sure this will get picked up.

2 immediate priorities identified:
1) Develop training and skills progression routes for those participating in the initial courses
2) Set up a co-operative to utilise local trades and skills in empty properties and as a local service to the community and small businesses
Secondary priorities
Ø Set up community eco- group with diverse people in groups churches, ethnic groups, vulnerable workers
Ø Run films and courses for youth etc. in local community centres
Ø Identify local needs - survey people to see what they want – not just us guessing and suggesting eg. Local beauty salons
Ø Use those trained as discussion leaders to deliver short teach-ins with community groups
Ø Meet local councils, unions other potential funders to fund next steps
Ø Create our own time-line for local environmental activities
Ø Develop a system to record all the people with trades and skills coming into the local community centre with a view to potential training or jobs
Ø Link with Lewisham College to run practical skills taster courses and longer courses eg NVQs
